For IT services firms
Finding end clients as an IT services firm of 15 to 50 people
Trouve Tes Clients helps IT services firms of 15 to 50 people open a direct channel to end clients: choosing target accounts, spotting the signals that justify contact and preparing, for each decision-maker, a message that the person reviews and sends themselves.
An IT services firm of this size often lives off one or two large-account frameworks, or an intermediary. This page describes how to add a second, smaller channel that you control, and what Trouve Tes Clients does (and does not do) in that work.
The problem: revenue that flows through someone else
A large-account framework fills the billable weeks. It also sets the rate, keeps the relationship with the end client and can stop at the next supplier panel review. When a large share of your consultants depends on a single channel, the strength of the business depends on a buyer you never meet.
The realistic goal is not to leave these channels. It is to open one more: mid-sized companies without a formal supplier panel, where a small firm is chosen for its skills rather than its place in a rate grid. The full reasoning is in the guide on finding end clients.
How it works, in five steps
These steps follow the five-stage system (target, understand, personalise, prospect, manage), applied to an IT services firm.
- Target: choose one specific skill to put forward, then draw up a short list of target accounts, thirty to fifty mid-sized companies. The method using public registers is in the target account list.
- Understand: in each account, find the person who lives with the problem (a project lead, a technical director) before the IT director who controls the budget, and note each week the buying signals specific to your trade: a tech role open for several weeks, an announced migration, a project not yet staffed.
- Personalise: write a narrow first message, with one skill, one signal and an offer of a short check, without a catalogue of technologies.
- Prospect: send from your own LinkedIn account or by email, then follow up with something useful. The end of one of your consultants’ assignments, known six to eight weeks ahead, gives you the right moment.
- Manage: split the roles (the managing director chooses the accounts and runs the first meetings, the account manager keeps watch and handles follow-ups) and track each account in a pipeline.
Two precautions specific to IT services firms
Before mentioning a consultant in a message, get their agreement. Their name, background and availability are personal data: at first contact, the skill and the availability date are often enough.
Do not write “consultant available” to a hundred companies. Match one specific skill with a visible need, and note the date and source of each signal: a signal that is three months old no longer justifies a message.
What Trouve Tes Clients does for an IT services firm, and what it does not do
| Trouve Tes Clients | |
|---|---|
| Who it is for | Managing directors and account managers of IT services firms of 15 to 50 people in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg who prospect without a dedicated sales team. |
| What it does | Helps you define your ideal customer, analyses the profile and posts you provide, gives a score and highlights the buying signals found in that information, suggests a message written for each decision-maker and organises follow-ups in a pipeline. For French companies, a search in trade register data helps you find the accounts that match your target. |
| How the message is sent | On LinkedIn, you review the suggested message, copy it and send it yourself. By email, campaigns and sequences with unsubscribe management. |
| What it does not do | It sends no LinkedIn invitation or message on your behalf, does not collect profiles automatically and provides no automatic company data in Belgium, Switzerland or Luxembourg, where you check public registers by hand. |

Frequently asked questions
Should an IT services firm leave its frameworks to find end clients?
No. Frameworks fill the billable weeks and remain useful. The goal is to open a second, smaller channel that the firm controls: a few mid-sized end clients contacted directly. It reduces dependence on a single buyer rather than replacing what works.
Who should you contact first in a client company: the IT director or the technical director?
Start with the person who suffers from the problem your skills solve, often a project lead or a technical director. The IT director sets the budget and priorities and joins the conversation once the need is recognised. Do not write to all three profiles at the same time.
Which signals show that a company needs an IT services firm?
A tech role open for several weeks, a migration or redesign announced publicly, a project not yet staffed. On your side, the end of a consultant’s assignment is the most reliable internal signal, to anticipate six to eight weeks ahead. Note the date and source of each signal.
Can you name a consultant in a prospecting message?
Only with their agreement. Their name, background and availability are personal data. At first contact, describing the skill and the availability date is often enough.
Does Trouve Tes Clients send the firm’s LinkedIn messages?
No. The tool prepares the targeting, the analysis and the message; the person reviews it, copies it and sends it from LinkedIn themselves. A limit of around 100 invitations per week is commonly observed for a LinkedIn account: a short list of chosen accounts fits easily within it.
Does Trouve Tes Clients find companies in Belgium, Switzerland or Luxembourg?
The automatic search in company data is available for France only. In Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg, you check companies by hand in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises, Zefix or the Luxembourg Business Registers. You then add them by hand or through an imported file.
